Headlights both go up and down fine. The problem is that when I put them down the right one makes a grinding/buzzing sound when it gets all the way down and won't stop buzzing. It appears it is still trying to go down.
Mine did the same thing but quit grinding after a few seconds. Replaced the gears and all is good again. I installed the brass gears when I didn't mine.
I know it's considered rude to suggest using search, but it you'll look at the top of the C5 Tech section, under the thread "ultimate DIY" you'll find a pictorial and instructions on fixing this. Also found in many other posts as well. If you can't locate it there, go to Google and type in "forum headlight grinding" and follow the links to the forum here.
Gears for sure. I just had the identical problem in Oct. Easy and cheap fix. Wished I had done both. The right side sits more solid now and at the right height. Left side is next.
Thanks. I'll change the gear this weekend and it will be fixed!
My thought when I did a search (yes I searched before I posted) was that when the gear went bad the light either stayed up or wouldn't go up.
I appreciate all the recommendations, even Richards (65ggvert).
