Default Electrical Problems

Hi all,
I am sort of new to this site and to the Corvette World. Since i was young while other kids were buying comic books i was buying any thing i could related to corvettes. I am 42 now and two months ago i bought my first corvette, a 2003 Black Z06 moded out with a super charger and dynoed out from corvette doctors in NY. to 640 HP. It is a rocket. It has 27,700 miles and i got all of the receipts in a thick folder for anything that was done to it and all service records. It even came with the origonial books and Z06 sticky pad with Z06 pen. I bought it with the codes for traction control, ABS, and active handeling . I have been doing much reading on this web site for over a month. Verry Helpful. Thanks to all. The mods were done in 2004 Kooks long tube headers the works. First i read all i could on here. then i took it to my local dealer to get a base line. I ordered the 18" jumper wires from the front wheel speed sensors because upon inspection the front right was kinked against the lower ball join. good place to start. Drove it. came back on. Ordered and changed out the two front hubs. felt pretty good about it. not the fix. so before i went as far as removing the super charger to get to the ebcm i started chasing wires. jacked it up once again started a long inspection of all the wire connectors with a tube of electrical grease and went to work. On the drivers side of the engine i found the problem. the wires for both of the front wheel speed sensors come past the header and go up the fire wall. they were streched so tigh against the header that the wires were all burnt and frayed and all touching each other. with the way they were it had to burn through very quickly. I cut them and spliced all new wires with heat shrink and the best connectors you can buy same color wires and everything. rerouted them on the other side away from the header and wraped them with a heat shield. and the problem is fixed. So i wanted to share like all of you. Check your wires first. and just to mention that is the only place i found corosion in a conector and only on one of the four pins as well. Needless to say i heat wraped and inspected the other side as well some of the wire casings on that side were crispy. That had to be that way since 2004 and no one could find it.?? Without that system, when you jump on it it just goes sideways. now she hooks up and goes straight as hell. Maybe a few people can learn from my little venture. Just my 2 cents. Thanks to all. Todd
