Default Does anybody recognize this red Z06?

Here's a pic I got from the wheel and tire section. I would like to do the same size wheel and tire set-up on the Z06 I bought from a fellow forum member last month. If anyone can help me out with info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jim

Looks like an 18/19 TSW Nurburgring setup.

Thanks 02, I knew that they are the Nurburgrings and I was thinking the same thing about it being an 18/19 set-up. I was just hoping to confirm it and hopefully find out what sizes the tires are.

is there any issue in running just a 9" wheel up front? Will a 10.5" wheel fit and would it be better?

I'm running 10.5X18s TSWs with 295/30s up front and they fit without a problem and I have cooling ducts. 2001 Z slightly lowered. Sure helps with the understeer.

Awesome, that's good to hear, thanks! I wasn't sure if the TSW's offset for the rear would work up front.

Would you mind telling me what you're running out back?

I have two sets. One set runs Pirelli Trofeos in 295/30/18 on all four corners and the other set runs Toyo 888s in 295/30/18 up front and 315/30/18 in the back. (Well, I did have two sets. I corded the Trofeos last weekend )

NOTE: This is a track car and these sizes will not work with the traction control on.

I also appreciate the feedback. I have been considering a more square setup for the street and the odd hpde. It looks like 295/30/18 on the front and 295/35/18 on the rear all mounted on 18x10.5 TSW's would do the trick, but I've seen conflicting information on Z06 brake duct clearance.

Thanks again, it's much appreciated! The traction control doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the boosted motor anyways, but why does the tire size cause this problem (sorry, I'm a newb)?

For the traction control to work properly you need about 1/2 inch more tire diameter in back than in front. If the computer doesn't see that differentation in rotation speed it assumes the rears are spinning and reacts accordingly. Neither of my sets are that much different in diameter. I don't know about boosted cars, maybe the computer just gives up.

That's not entirely true. I've run same sized tires at all 4 corners and had no issues with TC/AH. That being said - I do believe you have to have at least the same or more diameter in the rear or the system will react negatively, but I haven't tested that theory

Mmmmm? When I run my 295/30s all the way around I can't even make it out of the pits without the traction control blinking at me. I never run with it so I didn't press the issue to see what would happen after the blinking. I'll have to mess with that.

I ran C5Z rears with 295/35/18 tires on all 4 corners for about 30-40 miles. I eventually swapped to a 275/35/18 front tires, but during those initial miles, the AH/TC module never gave me an issue.

Sounds like GM must have tinkered with the software calibration over the years.

From my 2001 to the other poster's 2004 I guess we can probably bet on that.

I do it's my car. They are Tsw nurburgrings in 18/19" in gunmetal. I believe I had nitto invos in a 245 up front and a 285 in the rear. Had them on the car for about a year until I changed things up again. My brother has them on his Z now and they are holding up nicely.

They are light, and they hid brake dust better than any wheel I've ever owned.

if I still had them I would have gone with a 305 out back, and I would run a small spacer. They felt a little too tucked into the well in my opinion.

Purchased from the speed depot, who is a vendor here.

Some more pics- http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...r-is-gone.html

Good luck

Awesome! Thanks for the reply Madmaster! I do have a couple of quick questions if you don't mind. How much is your car lowered in the pics? I'd also like to know whose rear wing/spoiler do you have on the back. You truly have a sick ride, I love it!

Thanks.
I'm lowered on lg coilovers. I'm not sure how much lower it is from stock since I've gone through a few progressions to get here (lowered on stock bolts, lowered on aftermarket bolts, lowered on coilovers). It's not much lower at all from the aftermarket bolts, I can say that. (Not that it helps much ). Just rides better and no more bottoming out the shocks

Spoiler is Caravagio.

Thanks again, all your information is good information to me since I'm new to the C5 thing. This will actually help a lot on my decisions.

Thanks again, Jim
