Is there a safe and easy way to install the screens rather than trial and error and without scratching the paint. I regret buying them ... big mistake.

Are you referring to the front fascia brake ducts?
If so, two options...
(1) Access through the bottom near the corners, move the brake duct away from the fascia and install
or
(2) Place some blue painters tape around the edges of the brake ducts in case you scrape. That's what I did when I installed my Race Mesh front brake duct screens. Per the instructions, I installed/positioned the screens in the first brake duct groove. Some others have pressure fit the screens between the brake ducts and the front fascia, however I like the front groove install better. I used the blue tape just in case, however I had no problems. I installed a zip tie loop between the screens to provide me a handle to pull and adjust the screen and once positioned correctly, I cut the zip tie and removed it.

I installed them on mine after placing a couple of layers of blue painters tape all around the brake duct opening. I did reach in with my hand and push the brake duct back a bit then carefully slipped the screen in the opening until it fit in place. I have found that something like a pair of needle nose pliers helped to position the screen once it was in the opening.
Any tips on installing the rear matching screens ???
It depends what type of screens you have. My first set of SS screens have L-shaped lips with double sided tape that made installation very easy. Just position and press. They lasted 6 years with no problems.
However I decided to remove them and install new RaceMesh black chrome finish screens after I had my lower rear fascia painted black. The install was a PITA because I was trying to form a silicone bond between two vertical surfaces, thus defying the laws of gravity.
Below was my solution to hold the screens in place while the silicone adhesive cured...
