I continue to throw the code labeled....PCM-10, PO327. The list says it pertains to the "knock sensor front". Does anyone know if this is serious?
I drove down to the local Chevy dealer today. The svc mgr didn't seem to concerned. He just wanted to take the car in and put his reader on it and go from there. I was afraid $120 later I still would not know anymore than I already do. Any information would be welcomed. By the way....I clear out the code and it come back in a few miles.
Sounds like a bad knock sensor or bad wire. Have you ever washed the engine? There's a TSB about the knock sensors getting wet and corroding, causing failure.
There are two knock sensors located in deep wells in the valley tray - which can fill up with water if the engine is washed aggressively. There's a front and rear knock sensor.
BTW ... pulling codes off the DIC tells you everything a code reader can. Don't waste your cash on letting the dealer tell you the code when you already know what it is. Maybe the dealer will apply that $120 diagnostic charge to the repair?
Yeah, I didn't let the dealer put the reader on it. I told him what the code was. I will investigate further into the knock sensors. No, never washed the engine. I bought the car about a year ago. Previous owner put a FAST manifold and new throttle body on it. Also bigger injectors. He knew what he was doing, so no so worried about his mistakes. I put 3000 miles on the car before the code started showing up.
