Al little forum help please, pulled into garage and turned car off. 30min's later went out to wash, started it up went to shift and nothing. Shifter moves back and forth with it catching nothing. Probably cable came lose or snapped, but the other problem is the car is in the garage and can't really jack it up. Can I remove console and reach the shift lever on the tranny from inside the car? Sorry,it's a automatic before anyone ask. Won't get back on here until late Wednesday night, thanks. L8R ZFLASH
The shift linkage is on the driver's side, rear wheel, just above the ttansmission craddle. There is a white plastic piece going from the shifter cable end to the metal shift link/arm in the transmission probably broke or came loose. No you can't shift it by removing the console; it can only be reached from under the back side of the car at the transmission.
Can you get a low-profile jack in under the rear axle? If so, you should be able to lift the car, remove the rear wheels to take pressure off the suspension, and have enough room to perform the suggested repair.
Thanks guys,I knew ya'll would come through. AAA is sending wrecker out in the A.M. to take it to Corvettes of Houston. I'm thinking of jacking it up and trying to use wheel dollies to get it out of the garage,we'll figure something out.

You can move the car if you manually move the shift link/arm. You can get to it from the drivers side rear right in front of the transmission craddle. Just make sure you either put blocks on the tires or have someone press the brake pedal for your safety.

Thanks, that is what we did. It's already fixed and I'm back home with it. Corvettes of Houston took it right in and replaced the cable,in and out in a hour in a half. Thanks guys,L8R ZFLASH
