Will a standard in-tank walbro 255 fit to replace the stock pump in an 01, or is the racetronix one needed? Also, anyone know how low the gas needs to be in order to pull the pump from an 01?

I replaced mine last year on a 2001 Z with a Lingeneflter Walbaro. It wasn't hard, but all the fuel in that tank is coming out one way or another. It's a pain getting everything back in just right, but doable for average joe. Be careful torqueing your bolts back on, I snapped one very easily.
Would a regular in-tank walbro 255 swap in fine or is the racetronix one needed? It seems the racetronix one comes with a bucket. Not sure if that bucket is needed to replace pumps.
Not sure what you mean by Racetronics bucket. I just looked at Lingenfelter's website and that Walbaro pump is the exact setup I stuffed in my fuel tank. I also bought the tank seal at the bottom of the page. Been good to me so far. As the site states, it will not work for 2003 1/2 model years and higher, they went top mount after that.
