Baller.
It seems everyone thinks I'm rich when I'm out and about in one of my C5s. Either way, my 98 or 02, the car is at least 10 years old and not worth allot (blue book) compared to the SUV or extended cab pick-up they are driving.
C5Z will be baller for all of eternity!!! One of my favorite vettes of all time just so happens to be in my local group and it's a C5Z, it is on page 1 of this thread and belongs to Mark a.k.a "Toque".
I put the C5 into the same category as the C2's. I'm not saying that the C5's will one day be bringing 6 figures but I do believe that they are distinctive enough to separate them from all other Corvette's of this time era and the desire for them will continue. This is especially true of the FRC/Z06. Prices will rise and fall but there will be a loyal following of enthusiast that see the same things we do now.
I still lust for a C2 and it has nothing to do with what they are worth.
Regardless of year, the corvette has a lot of prestige. If you have a camaro at the end of the day, it's "just a camaro" ,they are a dime a dozen,go with the C5Z I love mine!!!!

I WILL have a C5 Z06 in my collection one day.
Thanks Milt... You got "1BADGS" their yourself....
Love your MOD RED theme inside... Classic !
Thanks guys. The advice is great on here. I have been doing research on here for months about things. I know I'm going to end up with a vette. God I love the way they drive plus I'm a die hard Chevorlet fan. I have just not fell in love with my Camaro and the beating from buying new is killing me however what is done is done and new will not be my way of buying in the future.
One of my co workers has a 2010 Camaro SS with the 426 hp LS3 and he paid about 40k plus another 15k in mods. I would bet my stock 04 z06 could still outrun it and get more compliments from people whether they know cars or not.The Camaro is a heavy tank and starting to be common on the roads today.I went for a drive Sunday and did not see another Vette yet seen about 9 or 10 new Camaro's.Bottom line the C5Z turns heads while the Camaro rarely does anymore.
A C5 Z06 will eat any Camaro for breakfast, except the ZL 1.
The 2002 -2004 Z06 has 405 HP stock, but weighs only 3118 lbs.
The 2013 Camaro V8 has 426 HP and weighs 3860 lbs.
0-60 the Z06 wins. Quarter mile the Z06 in the right hands and good tires should run in mid 12s. Camaro will turn in mid to low 13s
Top end speed, no contest. Camaro will top out around 150. The Vette will run 180 easy.
The things you will give up are modern electronics and of course factory warranty.
I had the choice of the two and while the Camaro is a super car, it ain't no Vette.
I had the same choice as you and I am on my second Vette. You should be able to pick up a very low mileage Z06 for anywhere from 22,000-28,000. I am talking under 35,000 miles.
Check buyavette.com for very good examples. I just traded my C5 Torch Red Coupe for a 2003 Z06 Torch Red with 20,600 miles at BuyAVette. They will give you a 2 year drive train warranty free, and offer buy warranties if you desire one.
Really good people to deal with and they do not jack you around. They only sell Vettes, so if you go there, prepare to drool. Lots of Vettes on the lot and you have to go to the back to see the classics.
Can we ban terms like "baller" on here, and just speak English???
Also, I know I'm biased, but if someone presented me with a C5Z and a brand new Camaro SS, told me money was no object and I had to pick one, I'd take the Vette before you could blink.
I'm still trying to figure out what "baller" means.
Me too, I must be old. But, I'm fast.
SS Camaro? Slow. ZR1 Camaro....$58K and slow. And you can't see out of either one.
Bang for the buck, the C5 of any flavor just can't be beat.
I'm also amazed....but glad at the same time....... that the Hot Rod mags have completely overlooked the C5. They get no ink. Yet a thrifty guy could screw together a low 11 second car, that gets good gas mileage, can drive every day, for $15-20K. I know because I did it.
Shoot, you can buy someone elses who has already done all the work, and it just might have 700 hp for $25K.
I don't think I've ever had this much fun with a car.
While a lot of people may recognize a Camaro,,,,almost EVERYBODY can recognize a vette. That alone says something. They are aging well,,something I don't thing the new camaro will do,,,,and the C5s STILL run great, handle great, look great,AND get good mileage to boot. If you can take the hit unloading the Camaro,,I think you would love the vette!!!
Not "BALLIN" but enough ***** to do what I wish with my 2000 Arctic White FRC. Although there are other AW FRC's out there on the road, I have been lucky and fortunate enough to not have ever seen another AW FRC in 7 years of ownership. Not one. And although my personal look may be somewhat unorthodox for most CF members, I've had nothing but compliments on my personal style. Corvettes are only "outdated" by the next year Corvette introduced. It just never ends.....
