Does anyone have information for 454 identification...such as what year and what vehicles the 454 was put in?

Thanks!

The 454 motor was only available in the C3 so you might get a good answer if you post over there.

Thanks!

I know the 454 was only in the C3, but I posted on C2-C6 just in case someone has the info!

Thanks again!

At least for the Corvette, the 454 was an optional engine in the 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, and 1974 model years.

you could get a 454 from 70-74 if i remember correctly. it replaced the 427.

i know my 72 has one that is a monster and even though my 00 has been worked over to 450 rwhp the 500ft/lbs of torque at 3000rpms that my 454 puts out just destroys it off the line. As far as identification, externally balanced is a big ID point, the 427 was internally balanced so look for a weighted dampner.
