Just a hello from a first time owner...
I just wanted to pop in an say a quick hello 
2 days ago, I picked up a 2002 electron blue z06. Not only is this my first z06, it is my first Corvette of any sort, it is my first Chevy, and it is my first American car!
I won't bore you with details of the more "normal" cars I have owned, but in 2007 I had a 1991 NSX, and from 2009 up until last week I had a 2000 NSX. A lot of people seem to pit the NSX, Corvette, and 911 against each other... as if it is blasphemy to like more than one of them. I suppose I'm not as much of a "car guy" as I am a "driving enthusiast", and from that perspective, they are all fantastic cars.
I loved my NSX; it was gorgeous, fast, and reliable. I had another daily driver, but I found myself driving the NSX so much that I sold the other car and daily drove the NSX. It also saw a lot of autocross duty. I autocross rather seriously at the local and national level... and despite my best effort I was not able to make the car competitive with the top cars in the class. Hence the decision to sell, and move onto another gorgeous, fast, reliable car... that is capable of winning at a national level in autocross.
And that brings us to today.
The car has been a complete blast for the last 2 days, and being so new to it I am still discovering little things about it (all positive so far). I imagine I'll probably spend most of my time in the autocross/road race portions of this forum, but nonetheless, howdy y'all

Well.....Welcome for sure!! I like your enthusiasm and autoX is fun in this car. I've only done three different events but it was a blast. I did some AX in a Honda prior to this.
Will you run stock or do some mods and run modified?

I have autocrossed other peoples' Corvettes before, and really enjoyed it. Obviously they are powerful beasts, but they are also fantastic handling cars! I've heard many people criticize the Corvette for not having good steering feel, but I can't say that I relate or agree. Coming from an NSX, which is lauded for it's feel, I have to say that I have just as easy of a time feeling/reading the front of the Corvette. I will say that it is a bit harder to feel the rear of the Corvette than the front, but that is just something to get more attuned to.
I intend to run in the stock (super stock) class. I'll put on some konis, perhaps a slightly larger front bar, and call it a day.
