This problem is on a 01 Z with 17k miles, always stored inside but I do live in the Northwest and the car is driven occasionally in the rain in the summer. Their has never been a problem with the door locks until now. I cannot lock the doors with the FOB or the inside cockpit control buttons but can unlock both doors . I presently hand lock the doors with the flip switches on the door and set the alarm with the FOB. When I push the FOB or the door button their is a click but the flippers do not move.

From the DIC the Codes are -Bat #1 and Bat #2 for for both DCM's and for the RDCM - loss of communication with the BCM.
The BCM shows no codes. but the RFA shows loss of communication with the BCM. They are all H codes. I have just installed a new battery as one of the diagnostic answers is the voltage. It had no effect.

I have the 3 Vol GM manuals for the 01 Vette but I would need a scan tool to figure out their diagnostic procedure. I went to a local GM dealer to discuss and he said they would put new door controllers in at a cost of 800 bucks but I am capable of taking the doors apart and doing that but am worried that its not the DCMs but some other component..
