I'm looking for a lift. A friend has a Kwik lift, but from what I understand they are no longer in business. What are some other ramps or lifts are you guys using? My car is an inch low, not sure how much of a diferance that makes.
I'm leaning toward the 2 post, but I have to do my final measurements. The 2 post will fit height wise, but I have a 3 car garage that I would like to keep a 3 car. The width might not work out at the end, so I may have to do the scissor lift. Good luck!!!
PS You are correct, KwikLift is done! You can find them on here used from time to time, but IMO one of the factors that lead them out of business was the price. Brand new it was pricey, especially for a non-hydraulic lift.
For the money have a look at Max Jax, I purchased one and really like it. I didn't have to modify my door tracks and it fits my smaller garage just fine. It is somewhat portable if you want it to be, as you can remove the floor bolts and roll it against the wall. Lift is 42", not quite what the other heavier duty lifts are but depends what you want to use it for.
For the Vette it works just great, I bought mine from Costco for $1800.
I've been researching a bit myself...and I'm sold on Bendpak. They just seem to be the most well built, safety conscious, HD lifts out there. I plan on getting one myself in a few months. I want mine to store the Vette above my M3 and be useful for working on either. I have 3 car tandem garage.

I also have a MaxJax from Costco. Still in the installing phase yet as I found out my garage floor is not as thicnk as what I expected and have some cracks where one of the posts would go. Like any other 2-post lift, you have to make sure the floor meets the required specs. At a minimum, a residential garage floor should be at least 4" thick and the concrete should be a minimum of a 3000 psi rating. It's definitely a good idea to ask a manufacturer about their requirements for the floor!
I have a C4 and a C5 and it looks like it will work fine for both cars. The key is to set the posts far enough apart so the arms will be at the jacking points. Mine will be 128" apart. The MaxJax is supposed to lift 48" and it comes with a set of 3" spacers to provide a 51" lifting height. And you can get 6" spacers if you want that extra height. The lift capacity is 6000 lbs.
My C5 is lowered on the stock bolts and I will need to build some pads to use under the tires. Something like a 1x12 under each tire should work. The car also has the aluminum frame savers so I won't need hockey pucks. The MaxJax pads on the arms have a rubber pad cover so there won't be any real chances of slipping.
Mohawk A7. Not real impressed with the company or at least the Authorized Distributor in Miami. I have a faulty/leaking cylender which has been repaired 4 times under warranty. Then the distributor stopped returning my calls.
It was a good solution for 11 foot ceiling and no fllor plate.
I have used a kwik lift for my Corvette for the last few years and have found it to be very useful for any type of work underneath the vehicle- the height is ideal for using a creeper to move around. I'm now interested in selling it if anyone is interested and in the DFW metroplex.
