My buddy's girlfriend has a Camaro. She is bored with it and has literally begged me to let her drive the vette (C5, no big power mods).
Imply what you will from that, but I rest my case.
Oh yeah... theres no way in hell she will ever get behind that wheel, just don't tell her that.
If I did this, I would always be thinking to myself, "this Camaro is really nice, but I'm not driving a Corvette anymore". That would decide it for me.
When you open the driver's door of a Camaro, is there a sticker on the inside of the door that says, "The Legend Lives!" I'm asking, never owned a Camaro. If not, I think I answered your question.
ZL1 not withstanding, I see Camaros,EVERYWHERE!!!! And 60K+ for a friggin Camaro?? Are you serious!!! You'll hate yourself eventually knowing you'll be gassing up that sucker way more than the vette you have right now. Plus i never could get used to the interior, I think GM is capable of much better, especially the dash layout. Most of us have started in Camaros, I know I have. My first camaro was a 71 Z28 and Ive owned at least 9 since then. Once I bought my 2001 ZO6,new, I never looked back. I would consider getting a ZL1 as a stablemate, but trade my Z, AINT HAPPENIN!!!! And speaking of gas mileage, only the GT500 Mustang is worse!! Did i mention resale value? If you decided to trade back to a vette in a couple of years, it wouldnt matter the condition or mileage, youl'll still look at the salesman like hes on drugs. The depreciation would be greater on the Camaro than a Corvette. Like they said, if youre having a tough time making a decision, that should be enough for you. Get a C6ZO6, and cut down on the coffee.
