The HVAC controls and radio of the c5 are obviously dated and so is my Bose system. What are some nice alternatives to replacing the bose system? I'm not into large amounts of bass, I am just looking for a high-end clear quality sound to get rid of my rattly, old setup.
Thaat's right, go wi Dennis D...you gotta stay witha famlee..
Dennis recommended a kicker upgrade to the speakers, it was great gave a lot of presence to the system and cost was minimal. I will upgrade the balance of the system when the 2013 models come out.
I have all kinds of options for you from entry level to 1800.00 per set component speakers
If you have some time just give me a call and we can put something together to fit your budget/wants/needs
We can do it in steps as well by replacing speakers with aftermarket and retain stock radio or go all in and do it all.
I did my own and went all alpine with and alpine amp and hu and then added a hifonics amp with a 12" rocksford fosgate shallow sub and i love it! also sound deadened it when i had it apart, absolutely love it and only a weekend of work with the gf! http://s1266.beta.photobucket.com/us...ound%20Install
Alpine HU, KTP 445 power amp, old school type that is plug and play and delivers 45 wattts to each channel, JBl 6.5 in the fron and JBL 6x9 in boxes in the back. I have an FRC so I had to go this route. I am going to put the 6x9 in front and get some components in boxes for the back next year.
I'm happy. I have bass but not overpowering. Sounds good but it won't win any competitions. One thing to keep in mind with Alpine is they put the same amps in all of their HU's, even the less expensive ones. The higher priced ones don't have better sound but have more features. So you just need to buy the style that has the features you want.
I don't know if the other stereo makers do this or not.
eclipse head units are also a very excellent choice but pricier than Alpine.
