I live in calif fresno and was wanting to know if anybody on this forum could tell me if there is a resonable shop in town to change the clutch, or about what it would cost to have the work done, labor only for I have purchased the clutch flywheel and slave already. Has anybody used the grip force stage 3 clutch with the ceramic pads? have a stock z06, the clutch is rated for 550 hp hope its not to much clutch. thanks can't wait to here your input!
By already purchasing your own clutch you are limiting the places might do a clutch swap. Most shops will want to sell the brand they are familiar with using and are comfortable standing behind should there be a problem.
When I was young my father owned a service station that also did drag race performance work. He had a poster that said you don't bring your own ham and eggs to the diner and ask them to cook them. Then don't bring your own parts here. Just a suggestion.
I think you'll hate the clutch personally, it's overkill for a stock car for starters. And puck style clutches just are annoying. $1500 later, you'll wish you spent the extra $300 for a full face twin disk.......that being said, clutch install usually go for $700-$1000. And get a remote bleeder also. It's a must on these cars, I know it's human nature to learn the hard way,so good luck
Thanks for your replies, talk to the mechanic I use he gave me an estimate of 850.00 to replace the trannie rear seal the drive line gasket to the rearend and fix the oil leak on the engine pan, either the front or rear seal and install the clutch is that good?
