Ill look it was in one of my post that I did I believe. Think I linked it from another if you search my name you should see it. Your talking about this right
Would love to see them and any tips/parts list
Thanks
I had 4 waterproof very low profile LED strips sitting around (originally wanted them for footwell lights but then bought plug and play footwell lights off another site). I also had 3m double sided tape too so I went to work.
Basically you would need to remove the door panel and get the wires run through the "accordian" that goes from the door to the car... of course, wire them up to the footwell lights so that when the door is open the lights come on... when closed, the lights go off... not much needed in the parts department. I stuck the led strips (2 on each door spaced evenly so that the last led is about equal distance away from the beginning of the other strip so there are no gaps in light.-- all wires tucked under the weather stripping of the door with a piece of tape to make sure they do not hang)...Led strips are closer to the outside edge of the door. Make sure you clean the underside of the door where you want the leds to be really well before sticking them on there.
I never did get a good night shot. I do have one on Instagram under my name leet13 if you want to see a pic but it was still light out... you may need to go back a few pics to see it
Yes, I spliced into the footwell light wires. I have red led footwell lights that plug into the bulb socket which came with very long wires... so i had a lot to tuck back in... as far as stock wiring- i am sure you know that there isnt much length in those to play with so be careful. lol
I will start off by saying the LEDs by both sides of the gauges are a real PAIN... at least for me... you have to take your whole gauge cluster out too... i have one led that will not light because it just wouldnt fit (LED was a tad too big) and lost its connection. its the PAGE button if you have HUD... button still works, led does not lol.. I never bothered to fix it when it went out because I have to take everything out again. I will wait til I have to.
I think if you changed every interior bulb to LED but kept it same color, it would look very nice. I have everything changed out except for the map lights and the AC controls... the rest are red.
I am going to go out there and put my one sidemarker in and reconnect my halo because a wire pulled out from it. thats all the "upgrades" i am doing today lol Got a ton of sanding to do on some interior pieces but i keep putting it off because i itch so badly from it. gotta break out the tyvek suit i guess. hahaa
