That thing really twists when it makes a holeshot doesn't it. wow.
Reminds me of years back, a buddy of mine who runs super-gas pretty serious, had a race truck at the time. The truck was a Chevy 1/2 ton he had when we were in high school. I used to go to the track with him when he was testing. Once we went on a friday night (he knows the track owner well), and just wanted to make a few test runs, but it was Mustang night. He just paired up with whatever was there, everything was just being run headsup, no dials, not that it mattered to him. The alternator broke, but he wanted to make one last run. When it was time to shift, there wasn't enough juice to force the solenoid so it hung in first gear and he had to pull the plug on that run. This is before the 60' mark...
Coasting from the 60' to the traps, he beat the Stang headsup! lol. Of course, the truck was in Super-Gas so it ran 9.90's with time on the throttle stop. It was pretty snappy off the line. Not long after, he sold that truck and got a Berretta (real racecar) into which he stuck the driveline from the truck. He and I could carry the Berretta off the frame by ourselves. Needless to say, that was a big step up.
What I can't get over is how that truck launches and stays hooked up with such a small tire. That's incredible.
Ps. My truck gets 1.5mpg worse with the cap on, so that cap on that one isn't helping his 1/4 times... That thing's fast.
That thing has been around for a long time. Not sure if he is still in OKC, but I used to see him cruising around years ago. Last time I saw it, it was running a BBC with tons of nitrous and slicks on the back. It's definitely a legendary truck around OKC.
