Does anyone know if the 2008 Navigation Sytem will be compatable with the 2002 or if there is a Navigation System made for the 2002? I'd like to put one in my 2002 Vette.

I really don't think a 2008 unit will work in a 2002. The best way to go about this is get an aftermarket unit and have a bezel made for a double din unit, I installed a Pioneer in my 2002 and it looks and works great. The person to contact is Dennis at Double D Mods, He is a forum vendor. His prices and knowledge are fantastic. Here is a picture of my Double Din nav unit in my 2002. Mr.Bill

I just snapped a pic when I was fitting it to see where to position the HVAC controls. I slipped a couple double sided foam pads behind it to stick it in place. Removed the bezel and screwed it in.
You will need the PCM and wiring harness from the 08 also for it to work! We are talking about GM here, you think they would make it that easy to switch!
I know this because I had a cadillac sts 02, and a bone yard had a NAV system from an 03. I was going to put it in my car until I found out all the other crap I had to get to make it work. It would have cost about $1000 at a bone yard. Also the antenna runs up the A pillar and into the headliner. Big PITA, just go with aftermarket you will be better off!

Swap out the B(L)OSE speakers and install a nice sub while you're at it. If you're really wanting to improve the sound, also add some heat/sound shield material. Easier to do it all at one time vs. separate pull out/tear down projects.
