i have a 2000 corvette FRC with the B&M shifter. im pretty sure its a ripper shifter. It takes a hell of a lot to move the shifter left right and between gears. when im racing its really nice but when i am just driving around seems like i would rather have smoothing shifting and easier to move shifter. my buddy tcruse on here has a grandsport shifter with z06 **** and its very nice but the throw is extremely long.
I can tell you next week, I just ordered a MWG shifter for my 2000 after all the raving people on this forum do about them. but they sound legit for day to day and for racing.

I still need to roll under the car and do the Anti-Venom mod, but I went with the MGW, and while it was a big improvement over the stock unit, I'd still like it to be easier.
I had the very same problem (left to right effort) and ended up getting the Snapshifter primarily because it came with a new shifter box and new bushings ( my shifter was very noisy during acceleration and the new box fixed that completely) . Anyway, the snapshifter was angled too far back for me, so I cut into the shaft, straitened it almost straight and welded it. I really like it now, it is much easier to shift than my old shifter (Hurst) but I will always wonder if I should have gotten the MGW.
I have a hurst on my c5 and a MGW on11 Grand sport. What a difference the MGW makes it is much better than anything else out there. My buddy has a B&M and my MGW is much softer and still has a short throw but with greater comfort. Go with the MGW you won't be disappointed.
well my install will be delayed a week or 2 because i went ahead and ordered a new shifter box cause mine was a bit on the wore out side, but the MWG is suppose to be here tomorrow. ill chime back in after i get everything installed.

Ok got it all installed, and no i had ordered the shifter box for GMpartswarehouse or one of those places. installs was pretty simple, the MGW shifter def. makes it feel more solid and shifting more deliberate. Had the shift shaft screwed all the way in like they reckomended and i didn't like it, because it was to stiff to shift. Adjusted it half way out on the treads and it works way better for me and not i am pretty pleased with the set up. No extra noises, smooth firm shifts, and looks way better in the car having the shifter about an inch lower then stock. I would have to say though if you dont completely hate the stock shifter, i'd just stick with it unless you have extra money to burn. If I had it to do over again, i think i would have put the money towards new wheels cause I never had any problems with the stock shifter set up. But never hurts to try new things.
I also installed MGW shifter. With the stock shifter I could not shift the 6 gears with out a misshift somewhere along the way.... I thought it was me but after MGW I find it was the stock shifter. I spoke to George at MGW before install and he strongly recommends replacing the shifting box as this wears out (especially the rubber bushings) along with his shifter. (MGW dosent sell boxes) The box is the major issue with poor shifting. I kept my old shifting box but the MGW is amazing and have absolutely no regrets. Get the best, get MGW. You will see the quality the minute you open the box. Greetings, Rob
