Default Car dies randomly

Well over the course of the last week or so my car's engine will die at any particular moment. I have noticed that often times it's after I let off the gas but it doesn't do it all the time though and when it does, the headlights, guages, radio, etc. still continue to work. I can start the engine up again and it will run just fine and there are no DTC's that come from this either. My car has a vararam, Kooks LT's, LS6 intake installed and had it tuned about a month ago.

Any idea of what could be going on?

How does the car idle? I thought MAF sensor, cam sensor, or even crank sensor but need more info

The car idles great, drives great. Put a new battery in it a few months ago too.

Recheck the tq on the intake mainfold. Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak.

Sometimes a new battery is the culprit. With all the electronics in today's cars it's a good idea to run the battery through idle tests post install until the computer learns the new battery.

Not sure if that's your issue, however I had that issue with my daily driver and fixed it by continually restarting the car after it died on initial idle. It usually took 10-15 restarts.

I had the same problem a few years ago. It turned out to be a loose ground on the back of the drivers side cylinder head. This is the ground for all 8 coil packs. When you let off the gas the engine moves and can pull on the wires for this. There are two wires on the ground, both are black with white stripe.

When mine died randomly it was the ignition. I took it out and did the clean technique by Bill Curlee and it solved the issue.

Mine would die when I came to a stop light etc, or slowed down to make a turn, basically when I let off the gas. It would always start right back up when it did this.

What is the "clean technique"?

I had that problem about a month ago. Turned out I had gotten a bad tank of gas.

Well I took some time today after work and looked over the car, sure enough the coupler between the air bridge and throttle body had slipped off and had a nice big gap so there was a good bit of unmeasured air getting into the engine without the MAF knowning. I've got all the couplings snugged up and double-checked the intake manifold bolts, no issues there. I bet this fixes it, will report back, thanks for the help!
