The following books really helped me in understanding these motors and cars. I highly suggest you run to your local book store and pick them up. In addition to providing very good technical understanding, you will also gain perspective on what can realistically be accomplished.
Judging by how you sound it doesn't seem like you know quite what you want, full exhaust and an intake would make for a very nicely modded dd. A cam is gonna hurt your gas mileage if you are concerned there.

I definately know I want to do the nitrous system and cams. But I really don't know about cams and which ones are the best ones, I dont care about the gas mileage. So do you know of any really good cams that lope?

Like stated above, your car is a pushrod motor and only has 1 cam not 2 like a mustang would have. I personally like LG motorsports' G5X3 series cams but its all about personal preference. Get on youtube and start searching, if you want to be specific then you'll have to be more particular on what you're shooting for in the car; such as what rwhp you may want to aim for for starters. Be aware that all aftermarket cams will have some degree of lope, just search through videos and research whichever cam you prefer. When it comes to aftermarket parts there is no "best" product, everyone's taste will differ. Welcome to the world of modding, have fun!
I think that c5at16 should drive the car like it is for a while and get a feel for it. You dont just get into a car with 600 hp and say no proplem I got this , we all not thats just not true. There are many of us on here that have driven high hp vech. and we all know there is a big differance from 400hp and 600hp. I would just not want to see another write up about someone getting in over there head and getting hurt in there vech. and we know how fast it can happen.

Oh I'm getting the feel for it. I won't just be going from my current hp straight to my designated hp. I am going to do everything right, take my time and gradually gain hp. So it may take 2 or 3 years for me to get to my goal, if not longer. I just want to know more about what to do.
