I never really liked the word 'vert'. I don't like 'vette' either.

It's a Corvette convertible.

I agree. Why vert? Why not Con? Why not ible?

As for Vett, I rarely use the term and I much prefer to use Corvette

Define roadster:

a roadster is a car that has no roof, but has a temporary one that you have to assemble the supports and snap the cover and side windows in place. And a convertible is a car with a roof that goes down and side windows that roll ( or power ) down.

roadster: open cart pulled by a single horse
also: open car single seat plus rumble seat in rear

I always called 2 seat sports car's ROADSTERS and vehicles with more seats convertibles.
