Default Magnesium Wheels N73 are these legit?

I was surfing the auction site and found several listings for these wheels:
Corvette N73 Bronze Magnesium Speedline wheels, made in Italy. Option code N73. 17" fronts and 18" rears. Goodyear EMT's, P245/45ZR17 fronts and P275/40ZR18 rears.

Question: Are these OEM? Are they really magnesium? Are they any good?

I have the OEM thin spoke wheels and am just planning for the future...

That is the right code for them and they were made by Speedline in Italy. They are really magnesium. They were an option from '98 to '04 with an option price from $3000 to $995. They are a pretty good wheel for the std sizes.

The N73 wheel option is as light a wheel as you'll find for the C5. I have four of the 18x9.5 and wouldn't trade them for anything else that I've seen. Mine are powder coated and extremely easy to clean, particularly with ceramic brake pads.

I think they look the best out of the stock wheels. Also the fronts are only 16.5lbs and the rears 19lbs. Very light.

The magnesium wheels were are very nice option on a C5 - expensive to begin with but got more reasonable towards the end of the C5 run. They do look great on a variety of exterior car colors.

Great wheel. I wish they were a little wider.

I need new rims to run wider tires now that I have a 3200 stall converter and 3.42 gears behind my A4. If they came in 10.5" wide id be happy to keep them.

I've got them on my '99. It came with them as a factory option ($3,000 in '99 - I let the original owner take the depreciation) but three of the original set was pretty beat up after 12 years - I suspect that the original owner may have replaced one so it was still pretty good. The paint does chip pretty easily so tire installation guys have to know to be really careful. Stiff run-flats that are difficult to get on and off also don't help. Last year, I picked up a set that a forum member had taken off his car early on and had been in storage for several years. Three of his were perfect with one of the fronts having been repaired. However, with my one good front, I have an almost perfect set (for 13 years old).

This is my original good front - only three small blemishes:

There have been several sets of these wheels for sale here on the forum in the last year or so. They were in varying conditions from "average" for $600 to a pristine set for $1200. Keep your eyes on the C5 parts for sale section or place a post that you want a set.

4 year bump!

I have the N73 on my car, they look nice but I'll be tossing on some newer C6 5 spokes to modernize the look a bit. If someone made me the right offer I could part with them.

I have a great set of C6 18/19 rims in boxes. Of coarse one of the 18s has a 4in curb rash. Smh. Other than they are practically new.
I'm willing to trade for N73 wheels! I reside in La Porte TX 77571

Message me if your interested
