Several times I have read of the heat damage done to the corner lights. Mine have no damage, but my understanding is that it is not an IF but a WHEN. So I was thinking about using LED replacement bulbs for the standard bulbs. Is this a viable solution to the heat issue? What are the drawbacks? I am talking about removing the 1157 (may not be the number) and putting in an LED equivalent. I am not referring to the modified corners that use an LED strip.

This is the solution to the issue. You will also need a hyperflash harness.
We offer amber, white, and the popular switchbacks. We also have harnesses ready to go. Contact me direct with what you're interested in and we'll set you up.

What does the harness do? Why do I need it?
Never mind. I was being lazy. Went to the site. Thanks !!

As far as the housings getting heat damaged, it may depend on the climate you live / drive in & type of driving you do? I have only replaced 1 bulb in 7 years and mine is a DD, rain or shine. (Mostly rain around here)
The temps are moderate to low here and I don't do a lot of sitting in traffic either, but do see a lot of wet drives.

I need to order a set of the LED lights for mine - better to be proactive I guess than wait for trouble. I already have the hyperflash harness for my LED halo taillights so I guess all I would need is the right LED bulb for the corner lights. And I assume these LED lights are simply a plug and play setup - no other mods needed.

It's true. and the fix is permanent.
We have Amber as well the new Generation 3 switchback LED bulbs available. Our hyperflash harnesses will remedy rapid-flash turn signals caused by the LEDs lower current draw. All items described are in-stock and ready to ship.
