Default Front blinker covers cracking on Z06

Looking to replace my front flasher covers. Had these covers changed 2 previous times (under warranty) and whatuknow. Cracked again. Are the steps extreme to replace these covers?

Anyone have a set laying around?

They are fairly easy to replace...I had water getting into my driverside blowing out the amber drl/turn signal bulb. There is an access cover for each side below the front fascia, with 5 or 6 7/8mm screws that need to be removed to get access. Maybe a good time to switch to LED, JW motoring has great LED setup. The bulbs just get too damn hot in that housing.

I got these from Amazon

Could you get a closeup picture. I can kinda make it out on the one photo you have but not quit.

Thanks for the link. Is this for a set?

yes the heat from the DRL turn signal gets pretty hot and over time the factory housings crack and leak. I remember my driverside turn signal quit working in the rain. When I pulled the bulb, it had clearly exploded, made a nice hole in the bulb. Apparently it is pretty common.

The LED replacement bulbs generate virtually no heat. If you go that route it is unlikely to crack again, unless something in the road hits it.

I've had my car for 10 years and didn't know this. This is good info. I've had them replaced a few times only to crack again.

I would say about 80% of the OEM T/S housings I replace are burnt/cracked above the bulb from the DRL's

as stated in the thread, a few trips through some rain/puddles, the bulbs blow after getting hit with water

Mine had multiple stress cracks at the rear edge. When I removed the factory lenses, they were tight against the rubber bumper, so I decided the bumper was flexing and causing stress cracks in the lense.
When I installed new lenses, I adjusted the lense so that I could slip a piece of paper between the lense and bumper before I tightened the mounting bolts... After that, they have not cracked again...
