Default GM LS6 intake or BBK?

Upgrading my 2000 LS1.

Any reason why it would be better to choose one over the other?

The LS6 is proven to flow good enough for up to 450RWHP
Unless you plan to make more than that or you have bigger cubes get the LS6 manifold.
If you're looking for an aftermarket manifold, look else where. FAST>LS6>bbk

I would personally select a FAST intake over the LS6. The fast is a proven intake system for the LS1, and a huge upgrade. Not sure where you are located, but they also recently got approved by CARB for use in California.

stay away from the bbk is junk r a heat blanket any way. If you are on a low $$ go with a ls6 intake. You may find a 90 r 92 fast for 700.00 in here used. Robert

^^wherea ur proof on that heat soak bs?? Bbk gained 5 more hp than an ls6 and blows that black plastic piece away in looks.. Yea it weighs more but if you go nitrous at least u won't have to worry about backfire cause u won't split the bbk.. Bbk>ls6 do I have to give links to dyno graphs cause I can and the fast makes 8 more hp for $1000 plus.

Hmmm. Well I think dollars for ponies most bang for the little buck (not that those Corsas were cheap), gonna sleep on it 1 more day, but I think will be going with BBK for intake and shorties to go with the Blackwing and Corsa axle-back. Not looking to get crazy, just wake it up a little bit more while I work on other things on the hit list to make it the car I want it to be by Spring.

Thanks for the input.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/genera...vs-fast92.html

Now go sigh at that dyno graph.

Heat soak from a metal intake? What about your metal throttle body, and ur metal heads, and ur metal block?? Bs!

Ls6 manifolds are damn near more expensive than used bbks.. I just got my bbk used for 300 on ls1tech.. I will post an engine pic when it's painted and installed its gonna be too snazzy.

For what it's worth I put an LS6 intake on my 99. My initial test drive showed a decent gain in the assdyno. It's power you can feel.

I wouldn't sweat the bbk heat sink. The minimal temperature loss would be insignificant unless you were drag racing and every millisecond counted.
