Default Wheel Appearance - Opinions Please

Anybody out there that thinks a 17/18 setup looks better on a C5 than a 18/19 or larger setup? I like the larger rears better but something about the smaller fronts seems to look good to me.

Anybody think wheels on a C5 with too little spoke do not look right? No offense meant to anyone with these types of wheels, but wheels such as Z06 spyder, 08 Z06 split spoke, centennial, etc. Again these wheels with too little spoke throw off my eye on the front. I think the limited front fender profile just doesn't blend well with wheels that have too little spoke coverage. Make sense at all?

Complex questions Jax! I think the stock setup looks fine. As for wheels, I'm not a fan of large, sparse spokes (like a 5 spoke wheel with thin spokes) I prefer more 'spokeage' like my stock Z06 wheels.

I've looked at a lot of Pewter coupes with different wheels, and have yet to see anything that makes me want to ditch my stock wheels.

Over the years, I've run the stock 17/18 setup as well as sets of 19/19 and 19/20 wheels on my cars. All of them looked good to me or I wouldn't have bought them, but the 17/18 setup still looks very good on the C5.

As far as the spokes go, I've run the 5 spoke Y2K style and now have the C5 Z06 in chrome reproduction and between the two, I like the Z06 wheels better - could be it is just the more complex angles the spokes form which causes a better reflection when the sun hits them.

I run 18 front and rear with a lot of spokes, When I first installed them I was a bit cool to them, It only took me a few weeks to warm up to them and now I love them.

17's are tiny wheels now compared to what's coming out on newer high performance cars.

I still run them, but can't wait to replace.

18/18 and 18/19 look the best to me.

I think the Z06 wheel is the best one GM ever designed for the C5. I've got 18's all around with chrome Z06.

Give me a meaty 5-spoke, uncluttered with bolt heads and dirt-trapping nooks and crannies. The 18" N73 magnesiums are just what I wanted. Bonus: they're very light in weight.

I'm happy with what I've got . . . but somewhere in the future, I'm kinda Jonesin' for the C6 Z06 wheel - - I'm OK with factory sizes . .

Yes, a fine balance of enough spokeage but not too much spokeage is what I like. Thx all!

Just a question, going 18 front and rear,,,does it affect active handling or anything else? Because the computer is constantly checking for a diffference in wheel speed wouldn't it set a code?

Not as long as you get the correct size tires that have about 1/2 inch difference between the front and rear.

Bill, what size tires do you use
I have 4 18 X 10.5 Chrome Zo6 wheels I'd like to put on my black vert and I understand these are difficult tires to find..

I'm running 18x10 front/rear on a 2000 Coupe. 275/35 front, 295/35 rear, Bridgestone Potenza's, max-lowered on stock bolts, and not a peep from my computer, everything is working fine....
