Default Speaker Upgrade Question, Double D

Has anyone tried this speaker upgrade with their stock system, if so, was it worth it? Thanks.

I ordered and installed the Kickers about a month ago. Easily one of the best bang for the buck mods for the factory stereo. That "muffled" sound is a thing of the past. Installation was a snap, too. Don't hesitate.
Hope this helps.

I've never really given any thought to upgrading anything about my stock stereo system. I thought the Bose speakers were self amplified, so if you change the speakers you don't need anything else? Where are the amps? I'm sure the music would sound better but I'm not that concerned with the sound quality because I don't listen to the radio that much.

Sorry if I´m not 100% following, is this an upgrade kit for the Bose system?

I too have this ordered after talking with Dennis but mine haven't come in yet.

My understanding is you leave the stock "woofers" that are self powered but replace all the other speakers and it sounds much better than before. Dennis said I should be quite impressed with it even only replacing those components. I'm anxious to hear it.

JeremyGSU have you put your speakers in yet? If so what do you think about them?

No, I'm having them installed this week. I'll make sure to leave a review.

I did it a couple weeks ago. Definitely worth the money, but don't expect a huge improvement since you're really just changing four speakers. The overall sound quality is better though especially for such a low price.

I am finally get around to reviewing this. I had the speakers and head unit installed the other day. Dennis was a big help in that the local place screwed up the wiring and the factory "woofers" weren't working. He relayed to me what they needed to fix in order to get it to work. Thanks Dennis!

On to the review. My initial impressions are I am not sure that the speakers sound better in all aspects. On certain songs I think they sound a lot better but on others it sounds more muffled to me. One thing I don't like about the head unit is you can't control treble like you can on the factory unit. I just can't seem to dial in the settings I want yet to where I have been happy with it.

Also, even with the "dim" feature on the unit is very bright at night compared to stock. I had forgotten most aftermarket units are like that.

I do like the fact that my Ipod now has power all the time and that I can control the songs through the head unit.

Overall, it's OK but I don't think it's great. Then again, I didn't pay much for it so I should't be expecting something wonderful.

I'll keep fiddling with the settings and hopefully I can dial in how I like it.

Can't say enough good things about Double D Mods though. Very helpfu.

Last year I bought a stealth box with a 10" sub from dennis and hooked it up to my stock head unit with an amp that I also got from dennis, the sound is night and day difference to me (No I don't listen to rap), but on all songs it's much better everywhere. I was going to eventually replace the head unit and other speakers but the sound is good enough now for me not to mess with the other stuff yet. Goodluck
