Anyone done this , kinda wondering what lies behind the door panel and does the panel have to come off or does the speaker cover just need to be removed ???
The panel needs to come off, and there are like six screws that come off, along with the speaker connector. Just did mine today. Very easy. Bad speaker?

As soon as I saw the subject title I knew it! Damn you lucky dog!!!!!
This is a mod I plan in 2013 sometime. The stock Bose were probably good 10 yrs ago but are very average at best now. I can live with my lows in the vette thanks to the sub but the highs on my stock 2006 Sienna with JBL's blow the Vette away.

hey randy hope all is fine , we came on back home i cant afford to be snowed in up in OK.
now to the car im not sure what is behind the door panels , what i do know is the previous owner had changed the rears { sub and amp already installed } but when i was installing the sound deadening matt i noticed that they were after market already ...im not sure why the wife bought the stuff ,but im going to put it in tomm.
Any hardware store has them. They look like grill forks.
The Vette Essentials instructions (link below) for the door handles installation walks you through the door panel removal. I didn't need to use any special tool, I just pulled the door near the identified locations and it came off rather easily and the re-installation was just as easy.

I hear ya. OK pretty cold and nasty right now huh? Can't wait to get a report on the kickers, especially on the highs. i listen to rock, country, rap, everything. Gotta have great highs for rock and country.
You need to remove the door handle plug first, there are two torx screws to be removed before you yank on anything. After that, start poping from the bottom. A screw driver will work also, I was able to do mine without.
