i have a c5 and i bought the t1 sway bars. i have not yet installed or even opened the box (haha) just had a lot of other stuff going on with work. anyway my car rubs/bangs very badly. it has lg coilovers on it now and is very low. so any bump in the road, even like running over a nickle it bangs. i have spoke to lg and they don't think its the coilovers, so i was leaning towards it being the bumpstops or sway bar end links, so my question is that knowing that what sway bar end links would you purchase?
also i bought some c6z brake calipers to upgrade my brakes and not sure what would be the best pads to get, i dont track the car but would love the best stopping power i can get as im also upgrading to stainless steel brake lines.
i'm in vancouver, wa near portland oregon.
i hope you had a great holiday, thanks for your time
Jayme
As for the rubs and bangs, I'd bet its a result of the sway bars you have on the car don't have adjustable end links. The LG quiet end links will be great, but they are pricey. Check out mid America and Ecklers for their adjustable end links/helm joints. They are more cost effective, and give you the adjustability you need for your lowered suspension.
For the brakes, since you don't track it, I would go with the factory pad, or ceramic hawk. My fathers C6Z has had both, and they both will be low dust, low noise pads. That being said, of the two the factory pads are better performers than the hawk ceramics, IMO. His C6Z has also had Hawk HPS+ pads on it, but IMO, they are to aggressive for the street. They stop unbelievably well, but squeak constantly, and throw dust like crazy. Factory pads or padlets are the way to go.
for the brakes I'd probably go with Hawk. They may not stop as great as the factory ones, but they're much cheaper and a single pad design is much easier when it comes time to service them
Thank you for your help, i agree i think i need to start with adjustable links. Do you think the LG are worth the price over the other brands?
i was wanting to upgrade stopping power over the stock pads but really hate noise, any upgrades with out the noise?
thanks again guys

I haven't used the LG end links, but I will say, I have the adjustable end links I picked up from Ecklers, and I have NO noise from them. They have been great. $300 for end links, when you can pick them up for $35, makes it tough to justify.
As for the brakes, unless you're going to the Hawk HPS+ stopping power from the other 2 hawk pads are not as good as the factory pads on the C6. The Hawk ceramics don't dust or make noise, but they also don't stop as well from high speed as the stock pads do. At low speeds you wouldn't notice a difference. The HPS pads is right on par with the factory pads, but they dust your wheels frequently.
My fathers C6 has had everyone of these pads, and the factory pads have been the best of all worlds. Stopping power is great, dust is low, and they are noise free. We have tracked the car 1 time each of the past 3 years, the first 2 years was with the factory pads. The last year was on hawk ceramics, and talk about losing confidence, run into a corner at 115 mph and hammer the brakes, and on crap, you're not slowing down! Scary. Both the other 2 Hawk pads squeak badly during city driving. It can be embarrassing. Just saying.
