The HUD first became available in the '99 model year and yes, a HUD can be added to a '98. I have some files that talk about adding it to a car that did not have it from the factory. If you'd like a copy of the files, just PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.

Thanks everyone for your replies. VJ won't be needing that file. I'm going set my sights on 00-04s'. I still have a couple of 2001 to look at that have HUD. It's almost a must have for me.

I intstalled a HUD in my '98. I found it on craigslist from a guy parting out his car. Got the cluster, harness, projector and whole dash for $300. It's an easy swap that can be done in an afternoon. I wouldn't pass up a geat car just for not having HUD.
