Default C6 shell with c5 chassis?

Could you take the.complet chassis suspension, and.running gear of a c5 and set a c6 body shell on top of it, would it work, be close or not at all just wondering

Thats pretty interesting.

I have always been a little curious about the other direction. With all the C6 body-less chassis on ebay I thought it might be fun to update the C5 with the newer updated running gear.

I would be far more interested in a C5 shell on a C6 chassis. I think it would be do-able; there would be a little more overhang front and rear, maybe a cosmetic stretch to take care of the slightly longer wheelbase of the C6 and some flared c5 fenders

what benefit would there be?

c5 doesn't really have any chassis shortcommings to the c6, just cosmetic ones....which you oddly would be changing

Well I find the C5 body style more aesthetically pleasing than the C6, but I would like an A6 tranny and an LS3 instead of my A4 - LS1, and from what I understand swapping an A6 into a C5 is not practicable (needs c6 computers and wiring).

It'd be a hell of a lot easier to just buy a 2005, it's sorta a step between a C-5 with a C-6 body anyway...

The reason I ask I had someone pull out in front if me doin 65 on christmas eve that totalled my car I hust sunk close to $4000 in the motor and another $2000 in clutch and trany I.bought the car back from insurance and.chassis and.running gear is perfect car put down a tad over 460 to the wheels the wheelbase length and width wouldnt matter as much as front and rear suspension crossmember mounts then you would have to shorten the torque tube a but or lengthen it which ever one you use from c5 or c6 I was just asking if someone has done it or pulled real measuremnts on the swap I cant afford a nice c6 much less a c6 z06, but would love to throw my running gear in a c6

There really are a lot of interchangeable parts between C5 and C6 including suspension. I'm not sure if I would be interested in an LS1 T56 C6. Sure you can do it, but why? There are quite a few write ups on LS2/3 swaps and TR6060 swaps into C5s. If you're trying to get the C6 look for a C5 price, its not going to happen.
