Default Painted console?

For the guys with painted consoles and radio bezels. I can't decide if I should paint the whole piece or not? For example, some I have seen have painted everything and some have left the cup holder lid and flip up part of the ashtray black. Also some leave the little cover to the air temp sensor to the right of the steering wheel black. Pictures anyone? I will take the pieces to a body shop to have them painted but don't know where type tape line should be? Any help

Wow that's serious! I'm debating if I should leave the lid on the cup holder and ashtray black because the traction control module will remain black.

Be sure to remove the rubber lining in the bottom of the cupholder AND then paint inside the cup holder and the bottom of the cupholder lid. You also can remove the lid over the ashtray and paint behind it and inside the ashtray area.

Have you thought of leather/carbon fiber?

I removed the armrest cover, the inner carpet, accessory power, and gas filler door switch and painted the inside and outside at the same time.

They all look great. I have a quick silver car and since the whole interior is black I wanted to paint the console and radio bezel silver. I'm going to take it to a body shop I just needed pictures and ideas. I think I'll keep the flip up lids, air themp vent, traction control module and ignition bezel black and paint the rest silver. Also I may just tape off the console where the arm rest meets and paint that. That way I only have to remove the key lock on the console and the lids come off easily. What do you think?
