Cam, head questions
I'm looking to install a cam in my 2001 zo6 and will be performing the install myself. A couple questions I have are what vendor has the best prices, are most knowledgable and where I can buy everything needed for the swap? I'll probably install rear end gears at the same time, thinking of 4:10 ratio. Also has anyone scene improvements from porting/polishing stock 243 heads? If so about how much and who does it?

I thought Texas Speed and Performance did a great job answering my questions and providing everything I needed for a great price.

Well, after this is finished I'm done messing with the car. It already has all the popular Bolt ons. I don't really want to put a gear in the car but its leaking trans fluid where the trans/rear end bolt together so I guess it makes since to install a gear while its apart. Plus it will help on the low end once the cam is installed

Texas Speed, for one, and Summit actually has this entire top end kit...http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tfs-k306-515-460 Which looked like a really good deal as well. When I was researching these type of deals, there were several places to get stock 243's ported and completely rebuilt, but I felt it would be a better deal to buy one of aftermarket heads, then I would have my stock to sell, which I see several selling all the time, and also have them in case I wanted to return to stock for some reason.

my brother is getting ready to install a head and cam package from which he bought from Texas speed into his 2002 z28 camaro..and he was very happy with his dealings with that company..he called them on the phone, answered all his questions that he had..
