Coated headers.

Pros and cons of coated headers, and should they be coated inside also?Thanks for any replies.

Many spend the money to have them coated but I fail to see why. You can't hardly see them anyway. Coatings are just that. A coating which eventually fails. Have a set of Kooks on my 02 vert, uncoated, and they look just fine after 2 years.

I coated my Kooks inside and out. Keeps them cooler and rust free.

My main concern is reducing underhood heat and the damage the heat can do.Those that have coated headers do you notice a big change in the heat they radiate?

Not necessary but you'll reduce underhood temps a bit.

i have lg streets on my 03 z06 uncoated..been on 1 year on my car..at the same time of the install of my lt's i installed a set of msd wires..and they still look like there were installed yesterday..no melting..so with that said, coatings can reduce the engine bay temps a lil bit..but not enough to spend the extra money on them..imo only
