Default Market value question - LRPP

I need some info please. I have read enough threads and posts regarding the LRPP (little red plastic piece) and wondered what the market would bear regarding price. I "might" be able to produce this part, but without knowing a reasonable selling price, I can't determine what the cost needs to be. I have no idea, but to me it seems that it could support a $10.00 resale. If that is true, the tool could possibly be covered and make it a worth while venture. I also do not know how many are needed. I would think I could sell about 100 of them fairly quickly.

Questions:
Can it be molded in a different color and painted?
Can it be semi-flexible (like the end of an orange extension cord)
Is it translucent?

Thoughts?

This is what I am referring to...

Over the years, I have seen a few posts inquiring about that little piece - and of course, you can't just buy it by itself. It's hard to say just how many A4 owners have had a problem with their indicator as there are a lot more owners than forum members. Something that might help with your decision is seeing what type of interest a major parts vendor (like Mid-America, Ecklers, etc.) might have in stocking and selling that part.

I'll see about getting a sprinkling of them made and let some of you "field test" them before committing to anything. My only problem is getting a good one to start with. I need one to give the mold maker.

Would there be an issie with them being made of metal and painted bright red?
