Default windshield weatherstriping question

I need to replace the weatherstriping that runs along the front windshield on my c5, been searching online saw a lot on the rear weatherstriping but nothing on front. I have a targa top btw. Anyone that can link me info and how to information? Thanks in advance.

Found this part number but not sure if it is what I need :

612-453 at mid america mw...@ 600 bucks

any alternatives that are still good quality but cost less?

also need 1 tpms sensor if anyone has one they no longer need and want to sell/give me

oh its a 1998 model btw

I had the same issue on my 2000 coupe. After a little research I found out you can't replace the weatherstripping as it is a part of the cowl. I replaced the entire cowl (which was very quick and easy by the way). I ordered it through Corvette Central for about $135.

I believe zip-corvette sells aftermarket for cheaper, but the quality can be iffy from what I've heard. Welcome to the world of the Corvette tax.

What piece is this? As far as I can think off the top of my head, there isn't a single piece of weatherstrip you can't buy separately. If it's the piece I'm thinking of, mid america shows it in stock part 612-457.

Edit: After doing a search I can't find a definitive answer. Some threads are saying you can get the part from Mid America and some are saying it's only available as part of the cowl.

I need the piece that runs up the pillars and across the top where the targa top is, sounds like you may be talking about the lower front piece on the windshield. I just meant the front windshield not front of windshield, so as not to confuse with rear windshield. But nice to know for future reference.

yeah toys.. got a harley a while back and hd parts are up there too lol

Seems like nothing is really cheap to buy for these cars, but IMO, the OEM stuff Mid-America sells might be the way to go.

I replaced my windshield and the weatherstripping on mine last summer. If I'm not mistaken, the sides and top are all one piece. If memory serves me correct, the stripping was more expensive than the windshield.
