Read again Rick! Leastwise, I didn't say that.
And the C1 make believe is ok in my opinion....but you'd seriously think they would have done the one iconic part that stands out the most....the windshield!
If it was possible to do that, sure. But to stand that windshield up or replace it completely, it's just not realistic. Now you'd be making structural changes of sweeping proportion. Sounds to me as if the people who would actually buy one of these don't care about that anyway. Only the people who would not buy one are complaining. (Put me in the camp of folks who wants to do it, even if I have to save a few more pennies)
I've seen the insides really up close, (cause I was in the research phase for my color change) and knew then I could do it too.
You considered doing a total body change? I spent about an hour at Carlisle looking at new ones and while I wasnt' thrilled with everything exterior, the fit to the interior and the finish was impeccable. I was seriously impressed. I expected a hodge podge, and it is no hodge podge.
I never begrudge a guys honest opinion....everyone has one. Even the Puritans with big buckle black shoes who freak about modded Vettes....
There are many! lol And worth every cent you paid for it!
I just got my weekly Hemmings paper and they've got a pic of a restomod 62. Tubular frame, LS6, and the original windshield!! Now that thing looks awsome. I think it was at SEMA. Did anybody happen to see that one? I can now say I've seen a restomod C1 that looks great.

I have not seen that.
Are you saying that car began as an aftermarket chassis and they built the entire thing? That's gonna take a few rolls of quarters there!
Somehow early on, I had the mistaken impression that the CRC cars were under 20 grand for the kit. I've since been brought up to speed and well, they're not so inexpensive. But from what I understand they are the least expensive of the conversions out there. If there's another one that's even more money yet, well, that's outa my range.
I may have to go google up some pics.

That didn't take long. Is this the car you're talking about? LS7 if so! Even more quarters yet!

That must be the one. It looked a lot more stock in the Hemmings paper. It was only a black and white photo taken from the front angle. I'm kind of disappointed. It doesn't look as good as I thought. I mean it doesn't look as stock as I'd like. Oh well, I'm just an old fart anyway. Thanks for finding the pic. At least I know more about the car now. Hemmings discription was a little wrong and murky.

This would be a little over the top for me too. A blind man can see I can't afford that. That looks like a 7 digit car. At least way way into the 6 digits. Those wheels don't look like any off the shelf piece, Intake cost more than my car, etc.
I can appreciate it for what it is. Still think I'd prefer the cheaper version. I bet there' s a lot of wind behind that windshield (swirling).
For any of you guys interested here's a couple links. The first one's not far from me. I've been to his shop and if your into this kind of thing and can afford it, he does good work.
