I almost bought a car identical to that! Had the same thing happen, I called the day after it was sold.
I week later I found a yellow vert that I liked (and was cheaper).
Just be patient! There are not a lot of 6sp convertibles on the market. Took me awhile to find one that I liked.
The general consensus of the forum is to wait until you find exactly what you want. If you give in and buy one that you didn't have your heart set on, then you'll always regret it!
Well... I agree, to a point. I don't have an exact car. And the following is NO offense to anyone...
I know I don't want black, white, yellow, silver, orange... that kinda leaves red or blue. ;-)
Auto/standard? Honestly don't care, I've had 'em both. Coupe or Convertible? Kinda leaning towards a convertible just because I've never had one.
Certain options it has to have, hud, selective ride, memory. Z51 would be nice but no biggie. I don't race 'em anymore. I treat 'em with the respect they deserve.
So from there I'm open, but if I could have landed that '02 for $25k, the $'d be coming out of my account and I'da either flown down and driven it back if ins and tags could be handled or it'da been shipped.
I'll get there... trust me... it's my retirement present to myself... Haven't had one for a bit and it's time now that I actually have the time to enjoy it.
You're obviously not retired stingray.... When you do that, you'll find out that budgets suck... not much you can do about it if you like to eat and have electricity...
Everything has a budget, including play money... $25k is pretty much gonna shoot my wad as it is. And trust me... seeing my wife pizzed off ain't a purdy sight...
two '04's with 37K in that color is on the block at Taxas Direct Auto. Both under your max.
Thanks ricbear. Missing some required opts though. I'm in no rush. It'd have to be a really good deal like the blue '02 for me to jump now. That one was right at the price threshold...
The weather's not gonna break for Vettes for 2 or more months here in NY anyhow. Either me or my local Vette pro will find something. I've dealt with this guy for years. He treats me pretty good and will go out of his way to find me a great car at a good price. How he finds 'em I don't know... but he does.
wasn't snoozin' though - was checking out the dealer - I'd never heard of the joint. Just wasn't meant to be. I'm not gonna loose any sleep over it. chit happens, you can't take it too seriously.
