Uniroyal Tires?
Just purchased my first corvette a 1998 w/ targa top. Car is in great shape but needs tires. Been shopping and found a set of Uniroyals for 750.00 installed. Does anyone have any experience wit Uniroyals. Thanks and I look forward to being a CF member.

Haven't used Uniroyal tires in probably 30+ years. My personal recommendation would be go with something like Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs - you can get them bought and installed for about the same price.
If you plan to drive your Corvette any harder than you would a car with a naturally aspirated 4 banger, don't go too cheap on tires. Car replacement will be much more costly. Cheap tires is not the way to go on a car with this much performance.
Have run Goodyears (the runflats), Michelin PS2s, and Uniroyals on my vette. To me, the Uniroyals have a much smoother ride than the Goodyears. They obviously do not carry the brand reputation of the Michelins; however, the Uniroyal brand is owned by Michelin, North America. Like several others on this forum, I did have the mysterious and odd rapid center wear on my right rear Michelin tire (not due to burnout or over inflation). Unfortunately, as these tires cannot be rotated, the tire wear warranty is but half of that for tires that can be rotated (figured that out after I read the tire warranty). If you're planning routine highway/city driving then the Uniroyals are, to me, a fine economical option. I don't track my vette so can't speak to that. For everyday driving, I would (and will) purchase this brand again.
I ran outline white letter Uniroyal tiger Paws on my C3 and they were just fine - - not good, not bad . . .
My C5 and C6 both came with Gooyear run flats and the C5 has Nitto 555s on it now- much improved ride and cold weather performance at about $700 at Discount Tire - - and probably at Tire Rack too.
We always put Michelins on the daily drivers, but they're so much more money on the Vette, I simply don't feel like I want to spend the extra bucks over the Nittos.
