I confirmed what i assumed was a bad HCM. Dealer wants $350 for just the part. I found a couple used components from the "auction site" for under $100 and was wondering what others have done when they faced a similar dilema? Pain in the rear
New used HCM is coming in the mail later this week. Anyone have any helpful tips on swapping it out? Should i try to get at it from under the car or by removal of the right headlight unit.
The module is located under the right headlamp and is easily accessed by removing or partially removing the right headlamp. It's plug and play. Depending on what the problem was with your old one, you may be able to repair it. The only "MOVING" part in it is a "points style contact" that can normally be cleaned with a small file or sand paper. There's a warning on the case that says something like "do not open" or "not serviceable". I fixed mine! Good luck with the swap.

I have a spare one for $50. Easy access by removing bottom plastic panels to control module.

Be sure and disconnect the flat, gray, headlight motor power connector while working to replace this. That way you don't have the hassle of disconnecting the battery.
Hey all, just wanted to thank you for your help. I was able to get the new used part in myself and the problem is fixed. I was able to get at it after removing the headlight shroud/cover. No need to jack it up!
As a side note I was feelin confident so I decided to also tackle my dim climate control display. After getting it out and looking at the circuit board all the soldering looked good. Without getting the soldering iron out I decided to reassemble and see what happened. The electrical gremlin must have left cuz its back to full brightness! I couldn't be happier. Cheers to all the good folks and great advice on here
