Ok I need some advice. I have a C5 2002 corvette that I am having to
replace the headlight motor on the passenger side again for the 2nd time in 6 months. Any advice on what is best or can be done so that I am not constantly replacing this motor. Or who is best to order this part from that will hopefully last longer than 6 months.
I bought a OEM new headlight motor off ebay for about $160, because I don't have the facilities to rebuild with a brass gearwheel. Easy to fit, and I also lubricated the linkages on which the headlights pivot/rotate - they are easily seen with the shroud removed.
If you can change the motor you can pop open the case and change the gear, if it is the gear giving you trouble. Then you would be done with it for around 40 bucks.
