"Service Column Lock" Display Came On
2002 C5 6-Speed Vert - No column lock bypass and never had an issue. Light just came all although everything seems to be normal. Is this something I can can take care of myself by resetting something or should I be concerned and take it in for service?
Thanks in advance...
Thanks in advance...
I'm sorting through them, but most deal with with a column that is locked and go on to talk about the Column Lock Bypass mod. Mine works fine, I just have the "Service Column Lock" message on the display. I'm going to pull the codes and see what comes up. Maybe that will help...
I would simply clear the code and see if it comes back.
I'd also check the 'pellets' on your keys to insure they are not dirty and/or loose.

Based upon the search data it appears the a non fully charged battery can cause this issue. I just put my Battery Tender Plus on to fully charge the battery. Then we'll see what happens. This has worked in the past to eliminate errant active handing and traction control messages. It appears many of the sensors are very battery voltage sensitive.
I admit, I'm an old school guy and go by the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" rule. I put the Battery Tender Plus on the car overnight and all is now well again. Thanks for all the replies...
i checked battery today ,load tested ,checked good, starter load ,is good,i just put in new motor.all grounds are good clean and tight.used new key.it started after a tune for new motor.when i first installed the lmc5 didnt do it for 5 ignition cycles.i cant stand it anymore.
Have you checked all the fuses in the IP fuse panel in the passenger foot well behind the toe kick? The BCM has several separate sections that have their own fuses to power various BCM functions. Check them all to insure none are blown.
I'd also call the vendor for the LMC5. They have more than one model because of just this problem. Ask them for assistance with your problem now that you have an LMC5 installed.

Good luck my friend. I have had both LMC5 and now LMC5R. It's a BCM timing thing. I am frustrated too. I don't get the pull key message all the time which kind of throws me for a loop. I purchased the CLB from Corvettesofhouston.com and am getting my $hit together to correct this problem. I need to remove the LMC5R and put the car back to stock. I also need to remove the K harnes which I have no clue where its hooked up to. Then I'm going to check all the fuses and install the CLB. Hopefully this will eliminate the problem. I still need to get the PCM reflashed and remove the 2 MPH shutoff should it happen again. Hopefully I'll get it done next weekend.

so i think i found the problem.we will see in the morning so far no pull key wait 10 seconds.i have a lingifelter box for the 24 to 58 reluctor wheel.had the ignition power in the ecm fuse.think it was turning on and loss of comunication with bcm, ipc, ecm,.hope that was problem.
