Any recommendations for the best battery for a c-5 other than Optima. Mine is finally giving out [cold weather] and not driving it enough so i think a new one is in order. nothing against Optima by the way, I just don't like the looks of them.
Thanks, Dave

When my Optima Red Top went out about 2.5 years ago, I ended up buying a Sears DieHard Platinum battery. Not cheap, but so far it has been flawless. There are others out there though that are cheaper and most likely work just fine in the car.
Last summer replaceded my 04 battery also with Sears Diehard Platinum battery. I liked the high reserve charge with this battery.Thought it might help with having i-phone adapter hooked up in car. Also liked duel post with battery. I put car on top post and used side post for battery tender that stay hooked up . Did not like using clip type connectors for tender. Very happy so far.But like stated above not cheap.Make sure you get right size battery for tray,If I remember Sears will tell you p-3 size but p-4 correct. Do a search to make sure about size.

my Optima lasted me over 10 years, still worked, but was developing corrosion around the top terminals - so I replaced with Sears Diehard Platinum, cost me over $200, but I have peace of mind

Part number P4 Dual post, and FWIW, it's U.S. made as well.
Made here by Enersys for Sears. Only the "Platinum" series Die-Hard batteries are made by Enersys:
The Odyssey version carries a 34-78-PC1500DT-A part number.
In August I replaced my Interstate battery with a Deka Intimidator AGM battery. The Interstate lasted for more than the five years I have owned the car. I paid a premium price for the Deka, but I wanted the peace of mind of an AGM.
