The design of the C5 corner lights (Especially the placement of the DRL/turn signal bulb) leaves much to be desired and limited the options of suitable replacement LED bulbs.
I'm considering a modification that would re-locate the bulb mount to the rear of the light housing allowing for the use of new high-power LED bulbs to be used. The original mounting hole would be capped and sealed shut.
This is something that will defiantly happen in my car, but I'm curious how many of you guys would be interested in such a modification. right now modification cost would be in the range of $75/set
I would be interested. A while back in a thread far far away I was promoting the idea of a new integrated drop in corner light along the lines of the LED halo rear lights. There was some interest but nobody was able to consider making such an item.
Got a Guinea pig for this modification. Parts on the way. He's opted for the switchback version which will use an 8-watt LED. The final version will offer both this as well as a 25w cree Q5-powered LED bulb (super bright)
