I'd like to get a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires. They don't offer the exact size for the rear (275/40-18). Would switching to 265/40 or 275/35 be OK ? Would either be a better choice ? Would buying a different tire the original size be a better choice ?
Thanks !
I'm newbie, so I didn't understand the significance of the rear vs. front tire diameter. Thanks for the valuable feedback. I'll just stick with the original sizes.
I've seen lots of conflicting feedback on which tires work the best. I'm looking for a quiet ride with decent handling. Any suggestions ?
Will do.
Stock for now. I just bought it last summer.
Only 15K miles on the original tires but they are 10+ years old.
'02 convertible.
I switched from a Ford ('95 Mustang GT convertible) to the Vette.
I've got it stored in the garage awaiting spring !
I've been looking at either Hankook Ventus or Continental Extreme Contact.
I'm looking for a quiet tire with decent traction & handling, reasonable tread life and a ride that's not as harsh as the stock run flats.

OP:
Check into the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus as an alternative to the Super Sports, they were the best tires I've ever had on a sports car (my vette) and they are great in the rain or dry
I have been thinking about Hankook Ventus 255/40/17 in front and a 285/35/18 for the rear. This sizing would equal a .9 inch difference in diameter. Slightly lower profile and a touch wider on stock wheels.
Sock tire size, 245/45/17 front and 275/40/18 rear, equals 1 inch difference in diameter.
