More problems. Went to drive her around a bit today. Was going about 20mph when she popped out of 2nd. Now she won't stay in 2nd and can't get into 6th either. I just can't win.

Trailered her back to the shop today and much to my dismay it was not a shifter alignment problem or any other quick fix. With the shifter exposed while driving it sounds like two rocks rubbing together in a not so friendly manner. Best case scenario its syncros... worst case my transmission decided to join the rest of the mechanicals in my car. I should know in the next day or so once they get her cracked open.

Picked the car up yesterday and mechanic just discovered the o2 sensor problem as I asked him to go ahead and change the oil while I was there. Wires were completely unhooked prior and car ran pretty good, now they are hooked up to the bad sensor and the car is pissed off!! At least until she goes into closed loop. Couldn't find a sensor anywhere on a Saturday and I also need the pigtail, so gonna get that ordered as soon as I find the pigtails part number.

This all being said I can't say how impressed I am with the shop I took her too. They said they understood I brought her in for a $300 seal change and ended up with several thousand dollars worth of repairs so they cut their labor bill in half. Very stand up guys.

But now I have an problem. Driving the car home yesterday it was almost like the "magic" was gone for me. I know she is mechanically a lot more sound than she was when I picked her up, but I don't know if its because I feel slighted by the seller, or what. I catch myself thinking I should just try to sell her myself now that she is actually safe to drive and go some other route, I dunno lol. I'm sure it will pass and eventually all will be good. Thanks for all the comments guys, now I'm off to find those part numbers...
You just made her yours a little quicker than most. You took care of the problems and made it right. Drive it and enjoy it.

BTW, I drove through the "sandhills" and up to South Dakota in June. I had to laugh at those guys in the run flats/ no run flats discussions that proudly say they have a cell phone and AAA. I now know where "out in the middle of nowhere" is located.

Well the verdict is in... pilot bearing went out and decided to take the input shaft with it. Time for a new tranny. On top of EVERYTHING else, mechanic said when he got in there all the bolts on my clutch were "finger tight" at best. Really starting to wonder if there is anything that was done correctly with this car.... I still can't believe she made it home from Florida with everything thats went wrong.

Wow that sucks.
If it were me, I'd be inclined to check every exposed bolt I could... what a pain...

On the brighter side .... I think your avatar pic is probably the best pic of a C5 that I've ever seen - stunning.

Just got off the phone with the mechanic there is a possibilty that the shaft can be replaced and the tranny salvagable... keeping fingers crossed.

Holy Cow, man!!!

If I were you, if for no other reason than a good "vent", I'd make copies of all your bills, and send them to whoever you bought the car from....

Thank you, only thing the previous owner gave me was some good photos. Here is a larger shot of it.
