EDIT: yes also question I know some if they could help me with a carfax report, tyring to save every little cent I can for this, and I know at least 3 people from the forums that have the unlimited 30 day carfax thing, if you could help me out by getting one I would deeply appreciate it
Found this after some talk brought him down to 9800 and he would throw in a nitrous kit?? What do you think
Without knowing mileage, service history, or taking it for a drive, or having a mechanic inspect the car; it's impossible to get a full picture of the car. 97s are cheap for a reason: more troubles. Buy a modified car with caution, and keep plenty of money in your budget for repairs - repairs that always seem to cost more for a Corvette. Read up on common repairs in the C5 forum, and investigate repair costs in your area. A beat-up C5 will cost you as much as a new Corvette.
One tip - check the VIN to identify when the car was built. My VIN ends in 000378, meaning it was the 378th 1998 to roll off the line (in late 97) - probably not the smartest purchase. A dealer friend ran the warranty history after I bought the car, and it was several pages. Back to you - a later 97 would have some of the early problems fixed. Keep in mind that the first 50 cars in 97 were GM testers.
I'm also reticent to believe the quoted HP numbers. I've heard plenty of owners talk about how much power their car makes. Very few can back it up. Not that a stock C5 is a slouch, but don't expect much more power than stock without timeslips or dyno sheets.
Good luck in your search. Owning a Vette is a blast!
It ends in 740 yeah i would check the car drive ect before i buy, and want to read up on common c5 problems too it has 130k miles and seems that they hit him from behind since it has an aftermarket bumper how can i check for damage?
Test drive it for a hour if it runs strong and there's no weird noises buy it. It looks clean. Put it on a lift and look under bent metal or major leaks. It's a great price at 9800

That looks like a stock rear bumper to me in the videos. The rear hatch seems to have a Fitment issue on the passengers side corner. I would request paper work on all the performance parts added (who installed them, how many miles since installed, maintenance records)
seems reasonable i mean if its just the bumper that's an easy fix as I have so many friends that are in the body work business and as long as the car runs fine seems like a good deal? Its listed at 12k I actually brought him down to 9800 I tried 9500 but he wouldn't budge maybe in person he would, I think for 9k its a steal though :P
Nitrous is a deal killer IMHO. If he's willing to throw it in, I'd bet money it's been run on the car. Too many people half-*** it and you could end up with a POS in need of an engine. Not such a good deal then.
So what kind of mods does it have, besides the BBK intake manifold and air bridge which is visible in the pictures. I would assume an aftermarket air intake and exhaust, but what else besides that?
"I have a 97 corvette leather seats, black interior, TV stereo, auto. Engine has heads, cam, BBK intake, headers and SLP exhaust. Car is making 450hp to 500hp. Clean title"
