I have my 2003 Z06 listed for sale or trade on this forum. I am looking for a 03 Anniversary Convertible. I have been looking at cars.com within 150 miles of Nashville. I found 4 of them at Dealers.
The reason I am posting this is that one of the cars has LT1 painted on the hood above the emblem! Do you think that would lower the value? How can you remove the writing without messing up the base paint?
The car can be seen on cars.com in Louisville.
pa; If anyone has a nice Red 03 or 04 Convertible and wants to trade for a nice 03 Red Z06 with 18,900 miles on it give me a PM.

If it is not a decal but really is painted, then yes, I would think it would lower the value a bit. Not something I would want on an Anniversary Red car - that is one of the best colors for the C5. If it is painted and cleared, about the only way to remove it is to redo the hood.
I did go on cars.com and view the car and the LS1 on the hood looks like a decal you can buy. That would be something I would call the seller about before making the trip. Hopefully that is all it is and you could just peel it off.
sell it! ultra low mile 03-04 z06s are getting really strong bids at the moment. you could have your pick of any c5 vert and probably some c6's. other than a like mile z16 you have the most sought after c5
as for paint, a good body shop should be able to paint match a hood with a nice high end ppg dbc paint and high solids clear for 300-500
I don't know about the strong selling part. I posted my AD 2 weeks ago and other than one trade offer for a C4 there has not been much activity. The car in Louisville looks nice "other than the logo" but it is at a Dealer and a trade would ream me a new one. I used to sell cars and I know how it works. You sell yours at top dollar and give low dollar for the trade. No Thanks"
I traded for my current Z06 with a Forum member.I traded him my 2008 Coupe that was modded with CAM, Headers etc for the stock Z06 and some cash. The Z06 had 15,595 miles on it and now has 18,900. And before you comment on it, I am an old guy and should not have bought the 08 in the first place. It is not an old man's car!
I am in no hurry and if my car sells, I will be in a better position to buy another.

I checked it out too, it looks like a decal.

IMO I think you should be patient. The 03 in Louisville is a nice car, but they're asking A LOT for it. If you expand your search area a little and don't rush into it, you can find a similar car for 7-8 grand less.

use ebay., just was looking on this this morning and people are still bidding low to mid 20s all day for a car like yours
Yes as I said, I am in no hurry. I had a PM the other day and the guy has a real nice 03. He said that it was rare. I comented back that they sold over 7000 of them what is rare about that? He also mentioned that He had a colector looking at it for 35K. Oh Ya!!
that's always the magic question. is it buddy bidding or is it real? if it's free to list still you could always do a 22.5 min bid and see if anyone bites.

"It's not an old mans car"; please explain; just curious.
Well when you pull up to a stop light it would sit there and shake. I took it to a tuner to see if they could smooth it down. They tried but without success. The car dynoed 492 at the rear wheels. I later found out that it had a Vengence racing stage 3 cam in it.
