Popup headlamp

Anyone know how to stop my headlamps popping up fully when I have just the side lights turned on?

They pop up but do not light up.

When I turn the lights on fully they then light up.

Did not used to happen!

Stalk is probably broken.

I need to replace my stalk too. $169 new on ebay. Free shipping. Installation or repair is available here in forum also. Repair seems a little above my pay grade.

Believe it or not, that is also could be a bad headlight gear. Does your headlight motor keep running a few seconds after you turn the lights off?

Yes, i hear a loud whirring noise for about 5 seconds after the lights go down........

It is easy to correct the problem and fix the gear yourself.

Edit: here is the gear rebuild kit I bought: http://www.rodneydickman.com/corvette.html
I fixed mine 3-4 years ago and still work like new.

Hint: go ahead and put new bulbs in while it is easy and all apart.
